speedometer ?

was there ever a mechanical speedometer made specifically for a 24" wheel? I'd like to put one on my wife's spaceliner and it has 24" wheels on it. I have the speedometer, do i look for a drive for a 24" or would the head unit have to be the same?

The speedometer generally was the same. The drive would be different. Usually the drive will have the wheel diameter cast or stamped on it. It might just be the number though, no indication that it is a measurement. i.e. 20, 24, 26

But be careful that the drive will accept your current cable. A Schwinn drive might not fit a SW head for example
