Does anyone know if a spider used on a one piece crank can support more than one chainring as long as you use the correct bolts?
I'd like to use a front derailleur using a one piece crank on my klunker build.

Thanks -

seems like 2 would be easy, one on each side, I dont know if you'll find one drilled for granny gear tho..

some cheaper mtbs came with one piece cranks and 3 chainrings.

Besides any old Schwinn Varsity/Continental chainring set or a tacky BMX spider with two rings you can take any old three arm cottered steel road bike crank and grind the swage off the backside that holds the spider on, this spider will have splines in it that can be files out to just the right diameter to fit a one piece crank, then drill a hole for the crank pin. This is an easy DIY setup.
