SPINAL TAP - Finished

After a couple of years of inactivity on here, I've decided to have another crack. I will be using the Cycobilly Deluxe frame, as it's been hanging from the rafters for a couple of years. I stripped it down to fix a couple things, but never got back to it. I will be using different bars, saddle, tires and lights from the original build, as well as putting a gusset on the bottom bracket, replacing the seat post, and painting it, instead of being bare metal. I don't have any fresh pics, so will post a couple from the original build.

What I'm starting with. I'll either move or replace the seat post to make it flow better with the seat tube, and gusset the bottom bracket, as there was a bit of flex originally.

Decided on a name.......not really a theme build, I just think the name will fit for the look I'm aiming for.

I'm using stuff I have for this build. The bars are from Atomic Punk, which I dismantled due to the Micargi frame bending and breaking.

Nothing done yet. Have been busy marking assessment tasks before the end of semester, and still playing 2 or 3 gigs a week. I have a couple of weeks break coming up, so will be getting most of it done then.

I picked through my stuff and found some lights, and also cut the old seat post off and welded a new one on. Pics tonight.

Decided on these lights. I won't have much time to create new parts for this build, so dug out some I've used before. The headlight has been in a box for a few years and still works

I just set up an album in my Photobucket and called it ELEVEN (for RRBBO11), and realized the Spinal Tap connection . Due to the amount of time I have, I don't plan on taking this build "one more" to 11, but it should turn out pretty cool nonetheless.

I've been painting and laying floating timber flooring in our spare room for the last week, so no updates . I will take a pic later today of the new seat post and post it though.

I was never happy with the original seat post, so cut it off and welded a new one on. Now, time to strip the clear coat and decide on a color. I was going to paint the chrome and alloy parts flat black, but won't have enough time, so they will stay shiny.

Just have to paint it and put back together. Only 3 or 4 hours work, but will probably take me 3 weeks.

Just a pic using my phone. i was too slack to remove the bottom bracket and adapter, so just masked them up. let it cure for a day and so and start putting it back together.
