I've got about 20 pounds of really long spokes, and I have a project where I need shorter spokes and I'm too cheap to go by 36 new ones. Does anyone know the tpi and the diameter of a regular spoke's threads? I've heard its somewhere around 56 TPI and 2 mm? Or is that wrong? Thanks,

Ccd

56tpi is right, 2mm corresponds to a 14Ga spoke, you'll have to measure that, but usually the actual spoke threader tool will do a range like 12-15Ga. Unless you find the tool cheap somewhere thery are coin, even the heads

spoke threads are rolled in not cut with a die to preserve the strength of the wire. I have seen guys use a die to thread them with no issues, but it is not the correct method
