Anyone have any idea where this may be purchased seperately? I have found the the bolt, cap, and bumper sold as a unit, and its under $10.00. I guess I am trying to be THAT cheap! Really, I just hate to toss these other un-needed parts, but its looking like that is what I'm going to do!LMK. Later & PEACE!!!!

If it's for the Schwinn style springer, I've purchased a shock absorber bushing at the local auto parts and trimmed it to work. I've found that the thicker it is, the better it works. Thanks!!!

You know what Cashman, that sounds like a good fix! The one I have now is so shot that the tire bottoms out on the bottom of the fender light bucket under a load. More clearance is exactly what I need! Yo Sensor, a skateboard bushing? Really? Are they even close to the size I would need? :?

i got what looked like a rubber cork from the hardware store and drilled a hole through it. i wanted something thicker than stock (had to get a longer bolt also) but i guess you could trim it down to the stock thickness.

Memory Lane sells the bumbers and also the big spring. They also have the big spring made for a Whizzer that is super heavy duty. The Whizzer spring would also be good for any of our 200 LB + members! :p Gary

You know what, I totally forgot about them. But @ $8.00 min. shipping for 1 little part not too cost effective. I actually went to the hardware store last night and purchased a rubber stopper for $2.00 as Philliphine suggested. It is real close to the proper size, I will see what I can do with this first. Thanks for the info Gary, nice to have another Schwinner to smack me upside the head once in a while! I will try to drill the hole with a forstner bit and see what happens, seemed a better choice over a regular drill bit. We will see! Later & PEACE!!!!!

Made my rubber bumper today from a $2.00 rubber stopper purchased from Lowe's. Shade tree engineering all the way! Used a PVC coupler to hold the piece on my portable drill press, stuffed it in and smacked it down tight! My "drill press" is an old Penncraft offering that I bought at a garage sale for $5.00. Its one of those deals where you clamp a corded drill and adjust it accordingly, works pretty well! A 3/8" forstner bit was used to drill the hole and worked flawlessly. It ended up being a tad long just as stated, so I chucked it up with a bolt and socket and cut it on the "fly" with a utility knife! Its a far cry from perfect but is much better than it was, I will take Gary's good advice and buy a H.D. spring and new bumper down the road when I'm more solvent. But thanks to you guys a cheaper solution came to be , Thanks!

maybe that was before i got here and/or on another forum, but i asked about a heavier spring and no one knew of one. i ended up getting the heaviest spring i could at the hardware store that was big enough for the bolt to go through, but just small enough that i could kind of thread it into the stock spring to help it. worked pretty good.

Do you need one of the heavy springs? I have one on my B6 they sent me by mistake and I've been wanting to replace it with the right one. I weight 185 and this spring doesn't budge when I ride the bike. Gary
