Just an alert to any Australian members, if anyone sees this bike let me know, or contact the guy who made it through Facebook here: https://www.facebook.com/chinkaschoppers/?fref=photo

It was built by a local guy here and stolen last night, pretty unusual bike, should be easy to recognise if someone tries to sell it...

Yes, I do believe that is an axe head!

Luke.

I hope you folks find this bike and the person that stole it.

Thief! It would be great to start a new thread called...."What you would do with a bike thief if caught". It would have been a just-for-fun way to blow off steam if you had one of your bikes ripped off. It is too bad that western justice cannot be metered out. Unfortunately, the penalties for this act are light, and therefor no justice is prescribed...bummer.

I have made sort of ....y trap bikes before. I used them for short distance commuting, to class, bar hopping or to visit friends. These biles had EVERYTHING on them bent. Seatpost, handle bars, wheels, frame, crank and fork. The caliper brakes were loose at the mount so they could follow the bent wheels. Plus it was rusty and a 24 inch wheeled 10 speed that was converted to a single speed by just wrapping the chain around one of the cogs and the small chain wheel. Different colors for the 26 inch fork and 24 inch frame. These bikes were stolen a total of 3 times and I found them abandoned about a block from home. I loosened the handlebars in the gooseneck when it sat in my yard. I never locked them, just laid them on the side of my garage. They were hard to ride until you got the hang of it. One was so bent people would yell at me saying your bike is bent as it went down the street like a sideways dog. I was thinking about making one with marginal brakes with STP smeared on the rims, everything loose, the pedals reversed, grease under the grips, gears that slipped when high pressure is applied and when the seat tilted barb wire on the top tube. I would leave it in my side yard, a little out of sight but not too much. If you can't catch em hack em.

I've had a girl's Cranbrook lying in my side yard a couple years I wish someone would steal!
If they don't soon, I'm gonna cut the frame up and build a long, low rat out of it.

Greased brakes, pull-apart chain, and liquid Draino splashed all over the seat cushion. That's MY idea of a bait bike.

Hydrofluoric acid based toilet cleaner, the pink industrial stuff. That will burn your bum better than Draino, don't ask me how I know this. I like the concept of chemical but burn and half a master link or a bent ready to break link.
