Ok the lady down the street threw away this Schwinn. Not a favorite bike being a multispeed and not really a cruiser. Thatismytruck wanted the cranks and I was going to rob the few good parts off and junk the rest. Not having a crank removal tool I cut the whole crank part off. Now being the old stretcher that I am....and bored silly ...I decided to stretch it 6'' and turn it into a differant kind of bike. I kept the same rims and laced the back one to a Schimano coaster hub..kept the cog thing to throw at the armadillos, and added another bar ...plus the 6'' stretch. I had some 26 x 1.75 Kenda tires that I bought one time. Hope ya like it. It turned out to be a really light bike that is fast compared to my other baloon tire cruisers. Here is a before and some afters.

Thanks everbody for the kind words. I'm really surprised at how much easier it makes a bike ride with just smaller tires.

Looks cool man the paint job is the fashizal, i think thats how ya say it . Might need a rack on the back so you can haul the food home from the store

Less rotational weight makes a big difference for an easier pedal. I am guessing the geometry of the frame also helps, as you are not cramped up on a cruiser frame.

what kind of bars were the first ones? I may have to get a set for my upcoming stretch.

I dont know who makes them.I picked them up from my lbs once a while back . They are pretty wide ,but really comfortable on a cruiser. They were 7/8 all the way. I had to use one of those grooved shims to use them on a regular stem ,but they work good on the Schwinn stem with the 4 bolts because it the size they take.

I bought several Schwinn heavy duti's and a couple Worksman's . Its one of them . The style looked old and I was hopeing it would go with the arch bar better. I was going to put some strut rods on it and weld them to the bottom of the forks...still debateing
