Sturmey Archer 3 or 4 speed hub

I was just tearing apart some bikes for scrap and getting some parts ready to ship to another member and I found out one of my British bikes has a SA 3 or 4 speed hub on it. Can someone educate me on these or poo t me in the right direction for info? Thanks

Look on the actual hub, it will have a model number stamped on it somewhere. Chances are it's a 3-speed, but you never know!
