Sturmey "twist shift" grip options ?

I need some grips for a sturmey 3-speed grip-shift setup... I have pretty much ruled out finding any of the sturmey ones.

is one fatter than the other or where they just soft 50 yrs ago? what is everyone else using?

The shifter side is a tad larger, but I have put different grips on them no problem. If the grip you replace it with is longer, you will have to make a "sleeve" to fit in the end of the grip so it won't stick to the bar (or just grease that end of the bar so the grip slips). I hacked up a broken Sram grip shifter for this. I cut the grip off the Sram shifter, and cut a section out of the shifter to use as a sleeve. I just sanded it down so it was the same diameter as the Sturmey shifter.

Did that make any sense?
