Picked up this nice matching pair of '77 Suburbans today for next to nothing. The mens is a 5 speed sporting 27" tires and the womens is a 26" ten speed with the sweet front freewheel.

Both need a good cleaning and a few minor things but they should make for a quick flip, If I don't fall in love...

Nice bikes, I'd love to get a set of those Weinmann gold dot brake levers for a FUTURE (as in not the foreseeable).
Does anyone know if they'll work with disc/drum or (heaven forbid) canti brakes?

Good find, don't be taken by their siren's song, flip'em!

Cheers!

I had just enough time before work to air the tires up and go for a quick spin. The original tire on the mens bike are still good while the ones on the womens promptly shed the dried out gum wall.

Heres one I picked up for twenty bucks.. Nice score..I wish this was a Mens bike.. :x

I am afraid the lady might have ridden her last ride. Even though she is in beautiful shape I believe she will be parted out. The FF will move to the mens, the wheel set might find its way to my Orient Express build, everything else to the shelf. Anyone see something they need? I just need a small push to pull the trigger in this one.

The market for girls bikes isn't enough around here to make it worth flipping when I can use the parts for other bikes. The wheels are on my current build already.

Thats cool..I cant sell a bike right now to save my life....and I dropped the prices even..

I try to keep my obsession self sustained. I have to flip bikes, sell parts, barter for what I need or use what I have on hand. Gotta keep the rat spirit alive in the garage. And besides, who cares about a girls bike?

Well, the lady is going to get a second chance. I was looking the frames over and realized that the chainguard tabs would have to be removed and the cable guides for the front deraillure would have to be moved. Now I think the straight fender on the girls bike will be moved to the mens since it has a few small dents. I will hammer the dents out and put it back on the girls bike. After I clean the bikes up I will put the girls bike into cold storage until the Midwest Bike Swap. The mens bike will get ridden until then, but it will prolly end up getting sold at the swap as well.
