Re: Sunday, March 10th Freeze your beep-Off Ride Northhampton

how funny is this for those of you that remember my "growth" on my ankle from getting hit by a pitch from my son. I sustained a very similar swollen ankle today during pitching practive as I was catching for a buddy of his and he threw on in the dirt that I couldn't handle and it whacked me hard in the ankle. Swollen, but still able to ride.

See you in the AM

We could not have chosen a more perfect day for riding (Luck you say – well, Yeah! ); temps at ride start were in the lower-20’s, by mid-morning at about the mid-30’s and by rides end in the mid-40’s.

Nobody’s bike broke down (although my bottom bracket was starting to make some weird noises) and breakfast at the Florence Dinner was good, generously portioned, reasonably priced and with ambiance to die for – a very dinner, dinner!

Ian and Joe it was/is fun riding with you both – next stop – Munson…

Re: Sunday, March 10th Freeze your beep-Off Ride Northhampton

Ian, was it tumor? Or was it a "rumor" of a tumor?..Did you guys go on the bike path at all? If you took Rt9, the ride back wasn't quite as easy as the ride down.

Re: Sunday, March 10th Freeze your beep-Off Ride Northhampton

Ok, I am a little slow when in comes to all the latest tech to keep the world updated. New Mac at home and new app on the road so I hope I get the posting correct.

The steeds about to hit the path.

Joe, those are great pictures.

Jose, great riding with you too. Glad I could make it. Perfect day.

Larry, it was a Class C tumor. Although it did have baseball stitches embossed in it, it wasn't the nasty size and color of the Class A tumor that has become the legend. Wished you were there today.

Re: Sunday, March 10th Freeze your beep-Off Ride Northhampton

Hi Larry, we combined both street and trail; first we took the trail, then we took the street to the dinner and into downtown NoHo and returned through the trail. We might have covered 8-10 miles or so while riding at a leisurely pace.

NoHo is a great place; it reminds me of the quintessential Midwest collage town with the collective lifestyle of Manhattan’s Greenwich Village!

That's not a tumor!................that's just a BOO BOO!

Re: Sunday, March 10th Freeze your beep-Off Ride Northhampton

OK... you win!

Swelling went down quick as the ball hit the muscle, not the bone like last time.

Totally looking forward to this ride again..whenever it may be!

Re: Sunday, March 10th Freeze your beep-Off Ride Northhampton

Hope I can go sometime as well. Should make it a summer night so we can go to the Tunnel and then Silk City.

Re: Sunday, March 10th Freeze your beep-Off Ride Northhampton

I agree guys, a Saturday night summer ride in Northampton would be truly awesome!

How about if we make a tentative schedule for the second Saturday in July (July 13th) from mid-afternoon until whenever, meet-up will be at the Look Park cycling parking area (the parking lot nearest the Main Street entrance).

Proposed title: Saturday, July 13th The Northampton Nightlife Ride

Re: Sunday, March 10th Freeze your beep-Off Ride Northhampton

In summer it would make more sense to meet at parking lot across from Tunnel Bar. Then ride bike trail to East Hampton, hit the biker bar there. Then come back and cruise around NoHo.

Re: Sunday, March 10th Freeze your beep-Off Ride Northhampton

Sounds good, Ian, let’s do that instead; we can develop a consensus around this framework and take it from there.

Re: Sunday, March 10th Freeze your beep-Off Ride Northhampton

I can't wait. Summer night riding in NoHo is really fun.

edit: just realized that night doesn't work for me. Our club's criterium is the following morning, and I have to be up very early.
