I threw my ‘61 corvette up for trade with a few bucks and got this:

Bruce was looking for a blue corvette, I was looking for a Schwinn camelback(s), a rear derailleur for my skinny bike build and a frame with a truss fork for the summer build-off.

24” camelback for my manta ray tribute bike

26” camelback: looking to do some sort of weird Franken-Schwinn using the 26” wheels and front freewheel system off of the blue women’s collegiate 5 I just got

Finally, for next summer’s build off: needs some patina, but the bones are there

All those frames look the same, the truss rods and bracket look just like my '46 Shelby. But forks are different. You may be right on with elgin. Does it look like they used the badge holes for the license? could help determine badge type if so.

That is a Snyder built frame with the bottom bracket having the typical Volcano welds where you can see the edge of the tubing where seat tube ,down tube and chain stays enter the bracket. Maybe a Snyder built Hawthorn or Rollfast

You could check with Crystal Lake City Hall, they probably have all the permanent bike licenses in a book somewhere.

Technically, it appears the town is no longer in existence!!! I’ve reached out to new Rochelle, NY to see if they can point me in the right direction!

This makes TOTAL since! I’m in central NY, and that Schneider plant was actually not very far from Crystal Lake.

I think the Schneider plant was in Little Falls.
