I have had this around for a while and know nothing about it. I see that some ta stuff brings in some $$$. Do I have here anything worth writing home about? I would like to ebay it (unless anyone here is interested) but I don't know where to start.

Thanks,
Highship

The touring triple version would probably be worth more for authentic Klunker builds but hard to say, sold one of those triples on here for ~$45 a couple of years ago. They didn't have a great rep for durability for klunking though .

Very nice! Racing double in fine shape. This takes a special TA crank puller so be very careful.
Let me know if it is for sale.

I left a couple of things out. What is the threading on the bottom bracket cups? English is desirable, Italian less so, French much less, Swiss not at all. Another biggie is the pedal threading, English threads are what people want, if it has French threads it is a bit problematic. The pedals can be tapped from French to English but you lose the rear side cap from the arms so collectors will have less interest. If the bottom bracket is french then likely the pedal threads are french.

Codes for telling what the bottom bracket threads are:

threading marking on cup faces
French (35 x 1.0 mm, right-hand thread fixed cup) single ring around spindle hole
British.ISO (1.370 x 24 tpi, left-hand thread fixed cup) double ring around spindle hole
Italian (36 x 24 tpi, right-hand thread fixed cup) no ring around spindle hole
Swiss (35 x 1.0 mm, left-hand thread fixed cup) single ring around spindle hole, "G" stamped on fixed cup

marking on lockring edge
French 35 x 1.0 mm, XXXXXX
British.ISO 1.370 x 24 tpi, ||||||
Italian 36 x 24 tpi, //////
Swiss 35 x 1.0 mm, XXXXXX

WOW  Tell me that wasn't just off the top of your head.

So I'm looking high and low for the markings you speek of and I cant find anything like that.
I'm not even sure I know the names of the parts.
Heres what I see...

Box says: made in France, T.A. 5 vis, Ref: 1690, Longueur: 170, Dentures: 52/45, Filetage S
Chain Ring: stamped with made in france and 52/45, and inner most part stamped with 170
caps: stamped TA specialites
Bearing cups: stamped made in England
Shaft: Stamped TA 344 and the haed of the bolts threaded in to the end are stamped SFF 88

Oh and the threads for the pedals are larger then 1/2" (1/2" pedals is all I had on hand to check)

I would sell but I like trades more :D
