well, today i got the new bike (next la jolla cruiser) sent to walmart from my mom, with the explicit instructions: "you can open it to make sure everything is there and ok, but you can't put it together and ride it TILL CHRISTMAS EVE." :) :( when i get it together and on the road, i am going to post pictures of it as "before". over the next (no pun intended) 6 months i am going to order up some ape hangers, 144ct spoke wheels, bannana seat w/sissy bars and a springer front fork, among other customizations. from what i can tell of it in the box, its pretty sweet, but i can't put it together and ride it till christmas! torture i say, but i guess good things come to those who wait.

i was finna go thru aztlan for my custom accessories, but does anyone out there know of a better place online to get my gear? i know its not really a rat, but i see alot of lowrider bikes around here, and as i said, for now its just in a box... waiting... driving me crazy... but i promised my mom, and you know how that is.

define "together" not tightened down but assembled together

hmmm, I don't think you can call a bike that is all put together with say um masking tape would be considered a violation of the rules. I dare you.

I only ever ordered once from Aztlan. Prices as well as quality were not "all that" I under stand they dont produce anything. So you get the same cheap Chinese junk sold almost everywhere, but what i had the hardest time with was waitng 2 1/2 weeks to receive an in stock part being shipped less than 500 miles. And the shipping charges totalled 1/2 of the total of the purchased part! There are lots of other places to order from, heck Bicycle designer is right down the road from you in Redding!

don't get me wrong, i got classic american steel in my fleet, but i wanted to get something new and trick it out, although i may just rebuild my 62' jch cruiser like that instead and get go a different way with the "chinese aluminum can". but i've seen some sweet picts around here of a lajolla or two all tricked out.

funny thing is, my other house is in dunsmuir, midway between yreka and redding. go figure.

thought about gettin' one of those la jolla bikes but just couldn't do it....guess I just like the vintage American bikes more.
I do get parts from bicycle desighner but I don't care for the fact that I cant just walk in the door and buy what I want...they only ship parts.
Never have tried Atzlan

i love my american steel, classic and true. i gotta admit though, sometimes i miss the feel of an aluminum framed bike and a cruiser is right up my alley. what kind of coneseur would i be if i didn't try something different? sometimes i wish i didn't have so many bikes so that i could fall absolutly in love with just one and have an expert feel and bond for that bike. but having only one bike for me is unthinkable. if nothing else, it will be stablemate to one 62' schwinn, 62' jch cruiser, 59' roadmaster cruiser, two murray cruisers, a columbia clipper and my english 68' raleigh, 67' western flyer and austrian built 63' jch 3speed and early 60's steyr clubsman roadster.
