This one's a mostly stock Trek Drift, with a few small changes. I got this one for the 3 speed shimano nexus hub and the aluminum frame, it's way lighter than my Monterey! I got an old 333 click shift and a NOS cable, and it works perfectly with the nexus hub! The shifter does work backwards, though, but that's not a big deal. Other than the shifter, I changed the pedals and switched to a flat handlebar and bullet grips. Thinking of painting the frame and fork olive drab and maybe painting the yellowed plastic on the shifter white to match the grips/cable, but for now I'm just going to ride it!

Trek Drift. One of the few modern frames I dig. Great seatstays. Love the "notch" below the top tube. Kinda needs a white seat and pedals, no?

I have hung out with a few of the Trek factory guys. Surprisingly, they have an amazing vintage bike collection. I should try to get in with a camera some time.

I agree, some white on the seat would be nice, maybe a 2-tone black and white. I like the actual seat a lot, so I might see if my buddy who does some upholstery work will retrim it. I'd really like to tear the whole bike down and paint it, but the weather's finally getting nice out and I don't want have the bike torn down while I could be riding it.
