Well today the stress has fallen off of me to a great degree, and today is a day that I will remember.
Today I cut the mongoose, and this the first time I’ve chopped any bike since 1982.
I’ve been waiting to cut this bike since I bought it. I finally got it into a situation where I could do it without making a mess.
But I beat myself up pretty bad today, because it was very hot. I was out there from 8 AM until 3:30 with barely a break for peanut butter and crackers and constant mugs of water. It’s almost like having a real job again. Fortunately now I just need to make some little bits and weld them together, and the hard work will be done.
Which was never the bicycle.
The hard work was cleaning up my boat yard and making it into a place where I can actually work. That was as much an accomplishment as the bicycle.
