Trying out some ideas for graphics to go the chainguard and some better "Tach" designs.

These are done in MS PowerPoint.

Thanks Odd Job. I will try more eperiments later. Really easy to get lost in rabbit holes like this and lose track of the build-off! LOL
And that's what makes a build unique and special! Your use of wood and pvc pipe and other accutrements has set your builds apart.

Keep the momentum going on the build, and then if you have time later, try some of the detail techniques.

I like the top one,very late '60s - early '70s ' bubble lettering.

The one in the middle.

An updated set of chainguard decal fonts and another Tach face (same as top one but with a slightly different font.

Went to Chick-fil-A last night and discovered what could have been the perfect fauxtina condiment for this build, avocado lime ranch dressing. Avocado was another popular green back in the '70's!

I installed the new rear tire the other night and tried putting the rear wheel back on the Spaceliner frame. The new tire seems a bit taller than the old one. It doesn't fit quite as well. There are 6 possible rub points on the rear of a male Spaceliner frame since they have double seat stays. So far I am hitting the frame at least once no matter how hard I try. The frame will need more tweaking and probably an alignment before it gets any paint.
I am getting a couple of dental crowns installed tomorrow, so not sure how much work will get done this weekend.

Got some more painting done tonight. Had some rain last night so the Canadian forest fire smoke isn't quite so bad this afternoon.

Got the Spaceliner frame widened out a bit more while the paint dried. Wheel spins free now. Probably should run some string around the frame to check the alignment and try it with the chain in place to see if it spins freely with the chain tightened.

My own little Part Kool frame manipulator...

Loving the sublime paint and craftsmanship! Knew a guy here that had a 70 limelight 340 duster that he ran for a few years.

That is a cool tool that I will add to my bag of tricks.

It's an exhaust manifold spreader. Apparently the bolt hols of some manifolds of certain V-8s don't always line up with the bolt holes in the block.

Today's condiment of choice is Bojangles honey mustard sauce, applied with a custom made applicator.

Once the mustard was applied, it was time to commence with the laying down of the lime.

Now the fun of watching paint dry begins...
Come on. You're from Carolina! No BBQ sauce?? BTW, paint looks great and REALLY pops, Pops....:)

I strung up the frame and checked the alignment. It looks pretty good.

Still a bit groggy from yesterday's anesthesia, so I took it easy and built a grill to fit in the front of the upper tank.

Needs some more work, but getting there.

Bojangles is fine sauce! For eating, at least. I don't know how it is for bike ratina/patina stuff...😁

Also nice to see another string theory alignment process.
Hope the med process is going well. Great looking paint and tank. 👍

Finished the grill today.

Now to decide if it needs a "bumper" painted on the tank under the grill, or not.

Stopped by the Raleigh flea market after church this afternoon. Found this kinda cool homemade rat bike. Even my wife thought it was kinda cool! The guy selling it was ready to deal. I asked how much and he said $40. Before I could respond he said $35. Since we had already bought several items, my wife and son and I managed to come up with $33. He said close enough! I figure one of those 20" wheels was worth more than $40. Thinking I will put those wheels back to use on my little Ross convertible.
