The moment you step up from building bicycles to building motorcycles. Picked up the tank to what will one day be my motorcycle. How long did it take others to transition from building bicycles to motorcycles?

Started building small japanese cafe racers with my dad in high school then began building bicycles when i moved away & lost access to his shop & space. I plan on going back into motocycles when the time allows it. Like when I'm 60.

Pretty much the same here, built my first motorcycle well before I could drive.

I guess I use the word
"Built" loosely, it was an old 70's DS80 dirt bike basket case. I bought it with a month advance on my allowance, then spent the summer putting it back together. But yea, I felt like I built the whole thing.

Cool tank, what do you plan to build?

Sounds cool! Sportster are lots of fun, here's the one my buddy and I built in my (crowded, one-car) garage

I went the other way, as well. Built one motorcycle, looked at how expensive it was, and switched to bicycles to keep the creative juices going. However, I have been giving thought to building another motorcycle, but this one I would scratch build. I've learned a lot fabbing bikes, and I think I've got an awesome idea for a motorcycle. It might be a couple of years before I start, though.

Do both.:D

I wouldn't be building one right now either except my dad has pretty much everything already

That thing looks like something Jessie Rook built back in the biker build off tv show days.

It is a Rooke, you beat me to it. His Schwinn inspired motorcycles are called "Kali Kruiser" I think. I wanted one bad, but, you know, 75k.

Yea that's just a bit much for me, is a nice bike tho.

I went the other way too, built my bling custom 500 scooter, then a few monkeybikes like my current dax clone then onto bicycles!

Dig the dax, I'd ride the wheels off that thing. You said clone, what did it start as?

Looks like a good starting point to me.
