YES, pleeeeease!
(I just started planning my summerbreak and I need to know how the next BOs would fit in...)
May-July 2023 : annual build-off (#2) with class 1/class 2 as usual
Aug : off
Sept-Nov 2023 : build-off #3 (technically) with the MBBO (probably go back to the class 1/class 2 format like the old days)
Dec : off
Jan-Mar 2024 : build-off (#1 in new order) classes TBD (probably ORBO and other)
Apr : off
Repeat

With this pattern I'm most probably out of all the BO's as my school breaks/possible campground stretches (April and end of Juli/August) are mostly inbetween build offs...
On the other hand that would mean less stress and pressure...

This schedule totally favors me.
I get off Christmas, my birthday, and our hottest month in the desert.
What's not to love!
Plus, I still have cars to build. This gives me months to work on the easy one before the next bike build.
Also, I have a trike to build, so maybe loophole "Suburban Market Assault Trike" into the May~July rules...

It's only been the past 4 years that we tried extending the annual big build off to 4 months. Traditionally, it was always a 3 month deal from May through July.
To be honest I would prefer the 4 month version stretching into August, or having all slots pushed over by one month so I could build in April and August. But I can live without the BO stress and build my next bike(s) in my time and rythm, while still watching and commenting from the sidelines...
If the build offs don't work. You could just build a bike in the builds section. Three builds is a must. Build off generate traffic, traffic generates revenue revenue keeps our community going. The owners of the domain are not bike people there business people.they don't make money they try something else.
I totally see the reasons behind the decisions made and fine with it.
I'm just a bit sad that like this it won't work for me, as I realized especially during the just finished BO that I only can focus on bike building during school breaks, when I'm not teaching...
I will continue building, but in the Builds section and not for BOs.

Soooo, I could run an EXPANDED Unofficial March Shootout... (which reminds me I still have a trophy to ship to Australia)
No real rules, everyone builds in one thread, ends on March 30th at midnite Central time, voting for a couple weeks in April.
The EXPANDED part could be early start in February.

We/me could run the Grocery Getter contest Feb - March (I like this idea...)

There is no deadline on any of my projects, but I don’t want to start some challenge. I just want to offer these suggestions.
Do one buildoff with 2 categories: maggot bikes and slick bikes.
Do a madmax maggot build. Lots of rust and crazy mismatched madmax accessories. One class for unaltered frames. Minor welding only. One class for radical/altered/custom framed bikes.

Well I doubt I run any challenge with such an enthusiastic crowd. I was looking forward to building a grocery getter too. Guess it'll have to wait til the Big BO in April...
