I've been giving my Skull Skates Cruiser a bit of a makeover the past couple of weeks. For those unaware, Skull Skates put this 26" cruiser out a couple of years ago with a 100% chromoly frame and fork.
I decided to use the set of Nexus 7 speed wheels from the Electra sale on this bike along with a set of Felt Quick Brick tires that Clancy (cman) sold me a few months ago.
The really cool upgrade was being able to install a set of PROTOTYPE Porkchop BMX's Dia-Compe Competition 3 piece crank arms. The quality and finish on these cranks is killer. He's taking pre-orders on them now on his site.
Along with the crank arms I installed a Porkchop 24T Chop Saw chainring, a Porkchop seat post clamp, half link chain, axle bolts and valve stem caps. I picked up a set of pedals from Cadence Cyclery in downtown McKinney before I shot the photos...great folks there!
Another very cool upgrade was a set of Al's Rapid Transit new super wide chromoly beach cruiser bars. These bars give your knees plenty of room for riding and they look beautiful.
So here are a few shots I took of the bike this morning...click on the photo to see the full sized version.
