I haven't been on the boards for quite a while. Health issues have forced me to take the last few weeks off. I have been dealing with bad back issues for a few years now subsequent to a bad motorcycle crash, but I really got smacked down this time. I have been living on the couch for the last few weeks. Pain was so bad I didn't even want to surf the net for old bikes. Crazy, huh? Thank God for heavy narcotics!
Well I crawled off of the couch for long enough to pick up a couple of bikes this week. I am feeling considerably better. So much so, that I am considering entering the RRBO #5!
The first find was on CL forever. Pretty much figured it was gone, but I called anyway. Still available. I met the owner a few towns over at the Culvers, a local burger chain. Funny how many bike deals I do in Culvers parking lots. This dude was the largest farmer I have ever seen. Evar. I'm guessing 6' 8" or better. Maybe 400 pounds? He picked the bike up from the bed of the truck by grabbing a single chainstay with one hand. He set it down gently like the thing was made of balsa wood. Yikes! Needless to say, I didn't dicker too long on price.

I went in to do a half day at work Friday, and spotted a plant sale on the way home. I know the girlfriend is looking for a few perennials and tomato plants, so I stopped by. Up against the house, I see a "garden bike" hiding amongst some climbing plants. I never did get those tomatoes, but I did get something.
