Hey guys, I've been kind of burned out on a bike. It is a 1961 Murray Meteor Flite and its a ladies frame 26". It is a very nice complete and original paint and chrome bike. I was slowly removing the red house paint and it was looking really nice, then I shelved it. Its still dismantled. I do NOT want to part it out and sell a few bits and pieces and be stuck with a stripped out bike that I have scrap. I want to get rid of it, 100% get it out of my garage. I don't want to sell the tank and rack and be left with the rest.

I can post pics in its current state if I must, but I think a better idea on the route to take would be determined after I put it back together. I'm just curious want kind of price to put on it or if there was a way to piece out and get rid of the frame too?

My interests are changing and many, many bikes will be sold or parted out. I did three of them in yesterday afternoon and I'll be dismantling another today.

Put it back together and you will get more money, period. Even tell them, I assembled this bicycle for the photos or to sell, but it will get more attention as a whole than a photo of box of parts.

I figured as much. I'll finish the math assignment I'm working on right now and I'll go out and piece it all together.

Trouble is, I don't know if I'll ever get it done.

If all the parts are there I would just put on everything "finger tight" so that when picked up nothing falls off, but you can't ride it, because hopefully you'll sell it to someone who wants to go over it themselves. Just throwing pieces together shouldn't take long.

Yes, but I've been in a tizzy all day. I've been up since 6:00 AM and I have not been able to focus. My mind feels like it as been melted, I'm out of it, and for the first time in several hours, I'm able to finally sit down and get something done.

I've got my mind on other things, I did something stupid and I'm mad at myself, overwhelmed with work, and all these bikes are getting to me, hence why I'm about giving everything away right now as well as piling stuff up by the hour ready for the scrap yard. Oh, did I mention that some ding bat placed 5 bids ona set of cheap fenders and in all my descriptions, I say I only ship to the USA. Yet, this new guy bid and guess what? He's from Guatemala! I'd paying EBAY to get rid of my own junk, I'd take a loss! I've resolved this prbolem before but I don't remember how I did it.

As said, my mind is scrambled.

Lord give me strength! :!:

I need some Pepsi or Mtn. Dew.

If you are working on a math problem and your not Einstein then your young and its a school thing. Believe it or not , it will pass quick and you will move on to more difficult problems life throws at you. Enjoy it while the problem is not where to find a job and where to live. As a youngster its not that bad , but you don't know because the real problems haven't hit you yet.

Or just redo it, maybe find a frame in another color and swap the parts over or just polish up what you've got, you might learn to like it again.

I'm movin on to another assignment. To be honest, the math is the least of my concerns, but it does take priority over bicycles. As far as liking the bike, my interest is dead. Sadly, its dark out, so I'll just get on it in the morning.

Much of the pinstriping is intact, very little paint fading, and not a single dent in anything. It also still sports the original grips and the chrome truss rods. It sounds nice, but really, the only reason most guys restore girls bikes is if the bike itself is super rare or they have a girlfriend/wife to give it to. Other than that, it has no purpose. I should have parted this out as originally planned but for some reason I changed my mind when I saw the clean original paint underneath. What in the heck was I thinking?!

I hear you, I just bought two identical JC Higgins girl's bikes today. Don't know what I'll do with them but I am so tempted to weld the two together and make a tandem.

Have you opened your welder yet? :p

Well...I looked at it and I realized that there is no way I can sell it complete. No body would want this in the shape its in, especially not for the price I though I might get.

I forgot the wheels were such a mess. Completely covered in silver spray paint and the front needs many of the spokes replaced. Also the pedals are toast and the seat was an ugly aftermarket. Looks like its gonna get parted out folks. What a shame. :(

Another one bites the dust!
Hey, I'm gonna get you too
Another one bites the dust!"
