Wow, that's steep. I really like those bikes, but I'd be hard pressed to part with that kind of coin for it. You could buy 3 NICE old tank bikes for that price.

I don't know a lot about the New Belgium/ Felt bikes, but that looks a lot like the 2011 model, is it a 2010?

It's the 2010 model.

The funny thing is, I must have seen 10 or more of this exact same model go on ebay anywhere from $350 up to $600 in the past couple of months.

This must have been a Christmas present rush sort of deal.

One showed up here on CL back maybe in November. It used the current frame type and it was a deep red, I'm guessing an '08-'09? It was listed at $400 and disappeared from CL in a matter of 30 minutes.

You don't have to pay that kind of price for one of those. they pop up on CL for around $300 once in a while.

that is a lot i would have taken it and ran in this economy. however there are dyno collectors out there who pay huge money for the more rare models. so maybe there are collectors out there who collect these as well. to each his own

I think the Christmas idea is spot on...or someone got a big Christmas bonus

This is the sellers 1st sale on Ebay usually people are a little conservative if you don't have a strong clean Seller's history

But it only takes TWO people to drive the price high

I wanted one (with the basket) bad when I first saw them, but now everyone and their mom has one. I have 3 friends that won them last year (i won a trek cruiser). Then again, we sort of have a large cruiser group here and the odds tend to be good when we show up at a bar that ONE of us is gonna win something.

I'd still shell some for either the 2009 Green new belgium schwinn, or the black sheep

Dude, based on your locale it's no surprise you see New Belgium bikes all the time. Me? I've NEVER actually seen one in-the-flesh.

I am also amazed at how common $130 shipping costs are on the auctions. That is usually the deal breaker for me. The last three bikes I have gotten were far less, cross country. $50 for my Jaguar tank, $30-$35 for my Typhoons, all packed nicely.

I just had an 80# box that was 6' x 2' x 8" from Detriot to Chicago shipped for $60 . That's pretty close to a bike box. So I think $130 might be a bit excessive.
