It's been said that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Such is the case with the 'Raceliner' bike that I built a couple of years ago.

I had been Google searching images of the bike looking for one that I have misplaced when I spotted what appeared to be some slick black and white studio pictures of the bike. Upon closer inspection I discovered that instead of photos, the images where 3D computer models!
It turns out that a 3D modeling artist in Dallas TX by the name of Zach Taylor had collected photos of the bike that I had posted here on RRB and rendered a computer model from them!!!

The results are mind blowing to me! I wonder if he had as many hours 'building' it as I did?:43::43::43:

Here's a picture of the 'Virtual Raceliner'. There are a couple more on my facebook page HERE.

I would like to contact him if anyone happens to know how.

That is Very Cool! Just imagine what it could look like with texture maps applied! Maybe your bike will show up in a future video game... It almost looks like a real bike.

I know! I'm hoping to find him to see if he ever added the textures!

Here's a photo of the real thing at a similar angle just for comparison!

I would imagine the guy has a Facebook or Twitter account, possibly instagram.
I'm not sure how that all works, but how many people named Zach Taylor can live in Dallas? I know it's a bigger city, but it might be worth a try.

Looks like a case for Lego Colombo!

I just zoomed in on the C.G. raceliner, the detail on that is insane. Individual chain links, rear tire tread, even the tank mounting screws. Every little detail.

Here's your man.
He also can be found on LinkedIn.
Yep. That's where I found the photos but there's no direct contact info there. I also found his facebook page and sent a message but haven't heard back. Hopefully I'll get in touch with him and get some more photos. Thanks for the help.

He's a student at the Art Institute of Dallas, looking to graduate by the end of this quarter. Here's what he told me about why he chose to render my bike:
"I came across your awesome bike when I was searching for ideas for my portfolio by looking on the photobucket and ratrodbikes websites. The design is incredible and I thought it would make a great portfolio piece."

I'm honored that he chose the Raceliner out of so many great bikes on the site.

Check out some of the detail...

Incredibly cool!!!...seeing a lot of details on there I never noticed before.
Agreed, its so cool how he got the tire tread on there. And I noticed the bands on the rear hub too. Looks like the kid's gonna do well in the cg world.

That's awesome. Thanks for sharing.
You should patent your bicycle concept if possible.
Don't let someone just copy it without your approval.

This site is all about "borrowing" ideas. I don't know that anyone has tried to replicate raceliner, but enough of us have bought TRM tanks to put our own spin on.
