Actually it's for all of you who enjoy looking at wildlife. This is the third year running for this live feed camera set up above an Eagles Nest on Alcoa Company Property here in the Quad Cities. I know Al likes eagles, and Alcoa has it's Corporate HQ in Pittsburg, so I figured he would enjoy it. It's a great thing for kids to watch as the Eagles hatch and eventually take their first flight.

Working Now When they fix it, drag your mouse to the center of the screen and click on "Full". This is really cool to watch for the kids and us "Big Kids" too!

So ,if you read the text in the link, the eggs are laid in late February and don't hatch until late March. It's a little boring at first. Once hatched, it gets more interesting as both parents take turns attending to the Eaglets (keeping them warm, bringing them fish, etc...)

The first egg hatched today. Now it'll start getting more interesting. Next one should be in about three days.

Good Morning World!
It looks like our first hatch of 2013 is planning to be a camera hog. Below is a shot of the little one this morning trying to take attention away from the egg we are still waiting to hatch.

The other egg is hatching! Mama just stood up and you can see a hole started.

Mom and Pop are both in the nest trying to keep things dry, as it is snowing right now.

Mom left to stretch her wings a bit. Pops is the smaller of the two, the females are always bigger.

That is pretty cool. We have a Pereagrine Falcon nest in downtown Boise. The nesting box is located on a building.

Googling around, it looks like there a few more eagle and falcon cams.

We have one of those in the Quad Cities as well. I watch 'em both.

Looks like the have the Refridgerator stocked. There's a Rabbit, a couple of fish, and not sure what the other carcass is. I've found it common in past years for them to keep plenty of food on hand for feedings of the baby's.
