OK WORKING ON A FEW BIKES THAT NEEDS HORNS FOR THE TANKS CALLED UP MEMORY LANE TO ORDER TWO I HAVE BOUGHT THEM THEIR IN THE PAST FOR CHEAP THEY HAD LIKE A $20.00 HORN UNIT AND A CHEAPO MODEL FOR $9.95 SOMETHING LIKE THAT. ANY HOW THEIR OUT OF STOCK ON BOTH KINDS SO I FLIP OVER TO FEEBAY TO CHECK OUT WHAT THEY HAVE IN SOME OF THOSE SELLERS ARE NUTS ASKING 65.00 AND $75.00 FOR THE SAME CHEAP HORN UNIT I USED TO BUY FOR LESS THAN 20.00 BUCKS NOT THAT LONG AGO. M.L. SAYS CHECK BACK AFTER THE BIG SHOW/SWAPMEET MAYBE THEY WILL GET SOME MORE IN I WILL HAVE TO WAIT THEIRS NO WAY I WOULD PAY THAT FOR A XXX HORN.....

I agree, I'm looking to replace a dead Schwinn horn...does ANYONE make a small electronic horn replacement?
I'm not even concerned if it's a 'replacement' as long as it runs off of battery and fits inside the tank, ya know?

If anyone knows of one, can you pass it on?

Cheers,
Dr. T

Have you thought about a little piezoelectric buzzer from an electronics store? Or some motorcycle/moped horns might fit in some tanks. It might be worth looking into.

Good idea! Looks like I'm headed to Radio Shack! I've looked into moped/motorcycle horns, but they typically run 12V and I forgot how to build a simple voltage multiplier.
