:D Well, I got the old Norco sanded down and painted
yesterday and I am happy with the results.

The only thing left to do is finish up the checkered
insert for the frame.

I like some feedback on this color combo,
do you think it works?

One other option I have on this bike is whitewalls
and a white seat , but I am kinda diggin the "dark look"

Oh yeh, I left the water bottle braze-ons intact for those hot
summer rides when there is'nt a watering hole close by

Nice Rat

I like the color, much like a primer job the night before the race. The shifter is sweet too. To bad those usually cost more than a bike.

:) Thanks Cman , actually the shifter was $13.00
off Ebay .It's a NOS item , but I think I got lucky
on the price.

I remember some of those quicky paint jobs back
in the day and a neighbor used a "vacuum cleaner"

Looks good. The only thing I might consider doing different is breaking up the black between the chain guard and sprocket. You could paint the chain guard to match the frame or do something to the sprocket. I like the black walls and seat. Headlight is really cool.
Maybe you can come up with something ratty or hot-rodish for the water bottle and cage.

I'll cast my vote for the "dark look" on this one

Maybe some checker board graphics on the chainguard to match the frame insert :?:

:) Joe , I see what you mean with the GC,
I was wondering, GM had a three sided washer bottle
with a bracket but I am not sure how big they were.

MP , that chaingaurd idea occured to me too or
maybe on the sprocket but I think someones on
here has done that.

Also I hope to practice with the new pinstriping brush
I got for Christmas and maybe try some yellow or white?

Thanks for the input Guy's

Chainguard idea ......... but I think someones on here has done that

I suspect you may be right

Another thought is to use a chrome or silver chainwheel to break up the "blackness" or run sans chainguard.

I'm really digging this bike :D Those 24x3's fit in there no problem from the looks of it.

Yeh ,then I can dig out my old metal
pant-clips so I don't get my "bell bottoms" caught
in the chain .

I gonna look in my stockpile to see what other
sprockets I have , if not maybe a big" mooneyes" sticker
on the sprocket

dark look

Cool, raw race car , flat tracker look, I vote X- the chain gaurd and paint the bars BLACK :p

one of the coolest bikes on this site in my opinion. i kinda dig the black chainguard but personally all my bikes to without a guard period. that headlight is incredible and i am going to try to find one for my next bike. keep up the good work and i saw my first norco cruiser yesterday roll into the shop and i tried to buy it off the guy lol.

:) Thanks for the comments Guy's, it's
not the style everyone likes but that's
what makes the world such a great place.

If everyone shared the same opinion we
would all be riding the same bike!

Once again "Thanks" to those who expressed
their ideas and opinions.

Vroom!

Checkerboard graphics on the sprocket would look cool. PLus it would give a nice effect while you were peddling.

Nice evolution! Both the original and the new version are great....but the only thing I wish was carried over is the old headlight. :D Either way, love BOTH builds...thanks for the update!

Thanks Guy's, the whitewalls I bought that way. They are "Fattio's" made by Electra.

I still have the flaming eye and after seeing the pic I think I will drop the headlight lower
and tuck it tighter to the frame.

As far as the sprocket it does need something or a change, I might try a checkered inset on the chaingaurd so it breaks it up a bit. :)
