Cool! That Desperado seems closely related to my Huffy Rawhide, which I've had since I was about 8. It's sitting in my basement now. I'll have to take some pictures of it.
 
No problem - I can't sleep anyway, and the camera was already down there. I guess it's not that closely related, other than being a western-themed Huffy banana seat bike. The frame design is definately different. Looks like the same chain guard though.

The white tires aren't original. My father put them on it after parting out bike he found at the curb so my nephews could ride it. It used to say "RAWHIDE" in a rope-like script on the top tube, but I always had a BMX-style pad on the tube and it rubbed the decal off.

I'm probably going to do something similar with it to what you did, but I don't have to worry about accomodating quite as much height (I'm 5'6"). But I've had this bike forever, it was the first bike I ever had, so I can't get rid of it.
