I bought several bikes from him. I also donated some very nice 1970s Japanese 10 speeds to his shop. They we’re nice but too big for me. He immediately counted the cogs and said “I haven’t had a 10 speed in here for quite awhile“. He sold me a vintage girls cruiser for $50 and said “the tires and wheels are worth that”. He said “figure out what it’s really worth and put the extra value in the Salvation Army bell ringer plate or your church plate“. He called his shop a bicycle ministry. Such an interesting concept. I’ll sure miss him and his noble mission.

I found another article. I was looking for where the accident happened. It was Punta Gorda. That is just 30 min. north of me. He was down here to give away bikes to our kids who had been impacted by the recent hurricane. A traffic control device was blown down, missing and led to the accident. God bless his memory and his loved ones.
