I would be somewhere near where you are for March and April if it weren’t for the national quarantine. It is paradise up here, except for these two months.Been living in NC for 20 years now. Seems hard to believe people still have snow at the end of March. It's 76 degrees outside right now.

Serviced bearings, added new tubes, adjusted a few things. This ‘55 Hawthorne is probably as done as it’s going to get. It rides well steering is quick. I figure it’s a quintessential rat rod bike as it is.

Yeas just happen to have a knob, think I’ll pass though.So retro and so cool. You can always quicken the steering up even more. and make it more dangerous to ride by adding a suicide knob to the steering wheel. Ha ha.
I did experiment with hand placement. 180 degrees on the wood rim just about right...lol.Or just hold on the gooseneck in the center, instead of the rim.
