I did a little research and the red and yellow hubs are geared the same with a low gear and a 1:1. The difference is the type of brake used. Red hubs are early 60s, yellow late 60s. It's the blue hubs that have an overdrive, I always thought it was the red.I have a couple of bikes with kick back hubs and they're ok. I just don't like how they shift every time you brake. It puts me in the wrong gear a lot here on these hilly roads but I think they would be great in more level terrain.
