UPDATE: Anyone put motorcycle bars on thier builds?

I have noticed a lot of moto handlebars some in 7/8" bar diameter and this should fit the classic stem - but has anyone done it?

Works great. They are usually heavier.

I used a set of yard sale clubman bars on my BO7 bike Flex-Liner 7.
I'd post a pic, but photobucket is acting up.

7/8" motorcycle bars work great with BMX stems. I have a set of aluminum motorcycle handlebars on my Murray klunker...

I have a set of bars off of a Kawasaki dirtbike, they are 7/8" and steel and are actually lighter than a set of bars off of a 24" DK Fury BMX cruiser. I found these Moose bars at my local motorcycle store the other day and picked them up for $18.00:

Close. i use watercraft race bars on my clunker. narrower, shorter, and lighter than MX bars

yep ... have a few sets in a pile .. but this is only bike with them on right now old school bars.. but have moto bars
as well have used...

As said work great with BMX stems, the bars are usually nice and wide too.

'81 Laguna Cruiser with Yamaha DT-1 (Repop) bars. Great bars for a cruiser. Nice sweep for natural wrist position but width (34") keeps is from feeling cramped.

A few years ago I built this ,had to slightly mod the stem to fit...

UPDATE ON MY FLY BARS!

These things were a bit too wide at 33" when I got them so I took 1-1/2" off each end and slapped on some vintage bmx grips

This is just a loaner bike for the bars and stem, until I get the Western Flyer together.

I put a set of Renthal bars on my 26" BMX cruiser. I love the cross brace pieces. Now I'm always on the lookout for cool motorcycle handle bars. If the price is right. Gary
