Has anyone ever built any upside-down bikes?...by turning the frame upside down, re-installing the fork, changing the crank so the chainwheel is on the rite side, etc.
My brother and I built a really cool one from an old girls 26 inch bike when we were kids, it looked great. Had the handlebars bent up at the local plumbers shop.(big apes) Had to use a picnic table to mount up on it to get started.
My dad actually saw a "how-to" in a Popular Mechanix magazine and suggested we build one.

...I built one bout a year ago from a 20 inch bike but took it apart when I almost killed myself on it!
here's a pic of the 20 incher...I tried a different handlebar set-up on this one;...that was one of it's problem areas...

here is a link to my Columbia Fantasy bike. The steering is wicked crazy with the center of the wheel so far in front of the steerer tube. But I like it I had to weld up the extra bar because the crank had so much flex. I may convert it into a tall bike. viewtopic.php?f=6&t=11633

My kids and I built a couple of gravity powered bikes to ride at an outlaw soapbox derby race we did. We flipped the frames upside down like in the photo just to slow the steering way down so you wouldn't get high speed wobbles and kill yourself. Lots of fun!
