Hi everybody,

I am interested in finding more about what I have here. I know the following:
  • It's a true rat rod with mixed parts
  • I think the springer fork and the sissy bar are re-productions
  • the tires and rims are from a mid 50's Sears/roebuck bike
  • the tank is from a small dirtbike or scooter of some sort.
I'm toying with the idea of getting it in shape but honestly would consider selling it someone who could really do something cool with it so valuation advice is very welcome too.

Thanks!

Welcome to RRB.
I can't tell much of anything from the small photo.

does this work better? I dont know, still figuring this forum out... Im used to the old Vbulletin style boards

I was just yanking your chain...

In photobucket I upload my image, then I click on the uploaded image, it displays a line of code to the righthand side (sometimes it is underneath the image) either click on it and it will say copied or highlight it and hit "ctrl-c" and it will copy the link. Then go back to post on ratrodbikes and hit the "more options" button paste in the link and then hit preview to see if it worked, if it did then hit reply to post. Sounds harder than it is, good luck, Rg

I think you need to change the size of the images in you photobucket. It is automatically making them thumbnail size.

im gonna guess its a sears spyder as it doesn't look much like a screamer frame but i could be wrong
its wicked cool as it is no need to change it out.
but it is yours and you can do as you wish it is sweet looking though.

You got the pics posted right now. That is one cool little ratty muscle chopper as it sits.
It's not a Spyder or a Screamer. I forget who made those frames that have the cottered cranks and the top tube attached to the seat tube above the cantilevers. I think it's German made. No real collectability value to speak of. The value in that one is how cool you can make it. It's pretty slick as it is. That tank makes the bike. The seat, sissy, bar, forks, and bars all go well with the build too. If I were you, I would maybe paint the frame, but leave the rest like it is. Have fun with it.

Hey thanks guys. It's going to take some work to make this thing ridable but I really do like the look of it. The crankarms are seized in the bottom bracket and the tires are dry-rotted through.
Looks like I'll be around the boards here lurking the how-to's!
