Hey Guys, I was just talking to an old friend and biking enthusiast who introduced me to this new bike design that he got the chance to check out.
It's designed and will be assembled here in Toronto as I understand and should be hitting the market at a very attainable price point.
I just thought that I would send this link and open the discussion on this modern Carbon Fibre commuter.https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1931822269/vanhawks-valour-first-ever-connected-carbon-fibre

That bike is short. The front wheel and the back wheel hit the potholes at the same time! Looks sleek. Does it come with a tank, rack, and light? Gary

I think that's about the right base price Luke.
The price would rise depending on the tank, rack and springer package you choose of course.;)
It has built in tech features as in the link for navigation, safety and anti theft that I think are extremely innovative on top of the super light frame weight. I'm not a tech guy or roadie guy, but it seems like a great offering.
I don't think they've hit the street yet, but the designer lives in my 'hood apparently, so I'll be keeping my out for the demo ones and would love to check it out first hand.

I think that bike has some features that some ppl will find attractive, but to promote a bike as a "commuter" when it cannot clear fenders, carry a rack, or clear any rubber bigger than 28mm is a stretch. I'd rather handle the blind spots and theft myself, and rely on the bike to keep me dry and carry my stuff.

There isn't much I wouldn't ride. I ride Huffy bikes that most say are junk and uncool. Which makes me chuckle because most of us that mess with bikes are older geeks and not hip or cool at all, and that is the category I fit for sure. Anyhow I would never want to be seen riding that contraption.

Bicycle808 makes some good points about how poorly suited it is for a commuter. IMO it's really just a bike marketed toward the hipster and spandex crowd that have lots of disposable income.
