SWB0 Vertigo Granny

This granny bicycle (omafiets) is ready for the finished build thread.
There were some 'detailing' ideas left, but time and budget made it a challenge. So I'm happy with this result!
Granny is tired... with Michelin race tires, so good to go for another decade.

So, here's how granny was headed for retirement (scrapyard):

Thanks to some cheers and nods from the members I decided to flip the frame.

The ideas started out quite wild with two chains, but I had to abandon it due to seating position space, safety and comfort.

This bike never ate meat because it is a 'her'before

Parts list:

• Histop coasterbrake rear hub, repacked.
• Mahogany wooden fenders, custom made.
• Brass fender brackets.
• Chocolate brown colour.
• Golden trims.
• Michelin race classic tires.
• CroMo seatpost. And CrMo seattube added for the frame flip.
• US bottom bracket. In the previous seatpost. Added extra clamping position for stiffness.
• 44-22 teeth.
• Aluminium dropouts.

The bike is not heavy and rides very good!
Even though the headtube angle is a bit trippy, it rides surprisingly well and quick!

Stuff that I wanted to do before the deadline:
Repair the front light.
Make a transparant cap over the BB bearings (will do that for certain).
Maybe other grips.
Seatpost bracket flat surface sticker or logo.

Amazing build. Love the custom dropouts. And I can see what you mean about the
open BB. I mean literally see the ball bearings! That's going to self destruct without
a little something to cover the view hole. Stay out of the mud and sand! Great build.

I loved the overall look and build quality. Your video answered my nagging question on whether no downtube would cause front wheel waggle while pedaling. I guess not. Love the looky lou holes especially the bottom bracket. It is so hard to tell when those pesky hidden bottom bracket bearings need some grease. The angles are so kick back and yet not a chopper build. Again great job on this cool bicycle.

I loved the overall look and build quality. Your video answered my nagging question on whether no downtube would cause front wheel waggle while pedaling. I guess not. Thank you, I did some short rides, and did not pay too much attention to frame stiffness. The bike did not ride that different from other bikes, other than I noticed that slack head tube angle. I can report back after some 'tests'. I'm certain it will be less stiff than other bikes with a diamond frame with a downtube.
