A buddy of mine recently installed a Sturmey Archer S2C on his SE Big Style cruiser. Within a few days he noticed that the hub was shifting oddly & even shifting by itself. He contacted Sunrace/Sturmey Archer & they informed him of a defective pawl. They mailed him one of their rebuild kits for the S2C & B2C hubs part #HSX157.
It's quite a simple process. The only special tool that you'll need is a 23mm cone wrench.
