So I am going to see an old man who used to restore bicycles. He says he is too old to do it anymore. He wants me to come make an offer on what he has. One thing that caught my interest was his collection of vintage tires. All wrapped and brand new old stock of Kelly and Firestone tires. Wide white wall, skinny white wall and black wall all 26" and a couple different diameters. I need to know what I could get for these or how much to offer for them. I just don't want to be stuck with a bunch of tires that nobody wants or if they are wanted what I can fairly offer the ol' man to be fair to him and myself and whoever might need them. All I have is a very bad couple pics that my brother (who uncovered this find for me) took with his phone. These were a couple tires that were easily accessible as most of the tires are packed away. Any info would be helpful.
Also anyone know what bikes are in the pics?

I don't think you would have any problem moving the tires. How many tires are there in all? You could get at least $20 per tire, on the low side, if they are in good shape. Does he have parts besides the tires? If it were me I would prolly offer him an amount that would equal $5-10 per tire, but I am a cheap son-of-a-gun.

He is guessing 20 to 30 tires but is not sure of how many of each style. I appreciate the input. I will put you down for a pair for 20 bucks each, Some parts and a couple bikes (some are pictured)

Petro,

Any tires you get that are 26 x 2.125 and are not the studded ones in one of your pictures, I would be interested in buying the lot of them. Whitewall and blackwall.

Thanks, joe

I would love to have a pair of the Firestone middle weight tires. 26 x 1.75, what would the cost be?

If you get those white lined tires, and they are Firestone I might be interested in them  Or any 26x1.75 whitewall tires

The other question to ask is....are the tires in decent shape?

Even if they are wrapped up and NOS they could still all be dry rotted.

I'd be checking them all out before I handed him anything.

Good question. It was my first question I asked my brother when he called me with the news. My brother said the ones he pulled and looked at were all good. No cracks or dry rotting. They have been in a garage the whole time. I guess we will see whan I actually get my hands on them. I will keep you posted. Should be late next week.

I am not even sure as I have my brother looking for 26" stuff. When I get there I will check and see. I will let you know if there is.
