Here's an old Hawthorne? I picked up in Hampton, IA today. the guy said he found it in an old house he bought 20 years ago. The bike is the same as when he found it then. I steered him to RRB.com and hope he becomes a member. Nice 90s RAT.

What's up with that funky front fender mount??

looks like the underside of an elephant!!! :|

Pretty sure that's a '38ish Cleveland Welding frame, it could have been badged as a Hawthorne, Road Master or others. I know that Phil sez they had two versions, and if I remember right, yours is the earlier version(?) I have one that's the second style, I think they spaced the bars wider for a tank.

(Or it might be the other way around. Phil/rms37 is THE man when it comes to these bikes!) -Adam

My EXACT reaction.   I was a bit grossed out- only momentarily.

Sweet find, loving the Royal Masters...

boy that's a nice one - where's the tires ??!!
I think that one came with some goofy mtb tires on it. And I have the chain guard in the shed, and I grabbed the wrong crank when I reassembled it for the pic, its actually a skip tooth. -Adam
