As I was picking this up, the guy was amazed at how quickly I responded to his posting. " That was only up for 90 seconds." I didn't tell him that the $20 salesprice was the reason. Probably going to spend an hour cleaning up and flip on CL. It even has heavy duti wheels.

Picked up by the faithful Xtracycle. Never let me down and is fairly fast getting to scores in the downtown area where I work and live.

Yeh that can be a mess. I have had similar problems. The Xtracycle is my main transport.

very cool classic schwinn, not sure about vintage. looks like your tow bike got more talk than the schwinn. it gives me ideas about my tow bike (that i need to build), but my original idea was a tow dolly, like the ones uhaul make. i do like th eschwinn though. :D

thanks cman. the other day when i bought a clairidge 10speed off a co-worker at work, i towed it back home with my 09 cranbrook cruiser by lowering the seat, for better center of gravity, grabbing the clairidge by the stem section of the handlebars and rolling it next to me as i rode. cuz my single speed crioser had coaster brakes, all i needed to do was hold onto the clairidge with one hand and steer with the other. only when i walked both bikes through a xwalk, for safty reasons, was i not able to ride them home. now if only i had a welder.

I started cleaning up this bike. The pedals seemed bent when I rode it, so I tried to take them off to put on some new ones. Didn't work the usual way and I started to question my mechanic skills. Then I unscrewed them backwards and they came off. Somebody had installed the pedals backwards  The threads looked okay so I put them back in the right way and they feel fine now. Is there any thing to be worried about or should I put a new crank in?

Did the pedals screw in OK and tighten up like any other pair would...If yes I would ride it and check them.
You can all ways use some loc tight on them if in doubt..

jaydub-They seemed like they screwed in and tighten up fine. I am going to flip this bike and probably will always wonder after it leaves my garage.
