water slide decals

after you use your ink jet printer to create your decals you have a dry time on the ink then you seal it with a spray that I will not be able to get for a while. is it possible to use clear coat to seal the ink? thought of hair spray but it would yellow and break down over time and not sure how it would react to being clear coated. Any ideas

My instructions said to use Krylon crystal clear spray after ink had dried which I did and so far so good.
