ok, it's time to vote for a winner.

Skip and I have been building and posting our progress in the Build Challenges section for a couple months now.
viewtopic.php?f=43&t=60644

Yesterday we unveiled our bikes and rode them around New Haven, CT and took pictures ( viewtopic.php?f=5&t=64827 ). See my pictures below of both of our bikes. If you want to wait for Skip to post his pictures later today or tomorrow, that may be wise. Also Skip will describe his bike better than I can.

Skip's bike first: 1950-something J.C. Higgins Colorflow with Jetflo fenders....

Skip made an aluminum filler plate for his bike, I made this louver "tank":

Re: VOTING TIME - thatismytruck -vs- ifitsfreeitsforme

Those are great photos Ian!!!

My bike is a 1950 or so JC Higgins ColorFlow. It's made the rounds here in New England. The fenders were chrome under the orange paint which makes me think they are from a JetFlow. For that matter the frame might be too. I just don't know what this thing is. If I cared enough I would write the serial number down and ask for help. But I don't. It had a skip tooth chain ring when I got it. I changed to a Higgins/Murray a few yeas ago. I'm rambling, sorry .....

You all should know we did not work together. We bounced ideas off each other and traded insults via texting, but the results you see here are independent expressions of our artistic vision. I find that really funny becasue we ended up with nearly identical bikes.

I'm having a tough time choosing between them and I built one!!

I took a few photos. None are as good as Ian's but they might be some different perspectives.

I don't think I ever posted my favorite photo of my bike. This is a Revolutionary War cannon on my town Green. It is pointed directly at England (no offense to our Brit members)

"Hate them both"

Very tough choice. And the views are always higher than votes because people check back to see how the votes are going. I have checked back several times and voted once. I don't think hate them both would get any votes 8)

I haven't called Walker, cuz I'm confident I'm going to win the RRB Electoral College. Skip is obviously going for the popular vote.

You could count the votes like the Democrats and say "tie" is a vote for you. (this is a joke, people. relax, take a breath and smile)

Re: VOTING TIME - thatismytruck -vs- ifitsfreeitsforme

Well, they both are awesome. I love the black on black of Skip's bike. I really like the tank and the jewels. Ian's bike is awesome. I love Monark built bikes too. I love the rear rack. I wish he would have been able to keep the tank, but I like what he did with it. It would have been easier to call it a tie, but I wanted to vote for one of the bikes. I pretty much decided in the end to vote for the bike that I would like to own most.
