According to this chart from The CABE, a stand-alone Cw stamp identifies a Series 3 bike and I'm guessing the 'G' prefix of the serial number suggests a late 1948 production date. A lot of these bikes were badged as Roadmaster, but not exclusively.

What an incredible bike. I love CWC stays, the curves are lovely. It's extremely rare to find anything like that in Canada. CCM dominated the market in that era due to high tariffs. A lot of the American bikes were never imported. Schwinn and CCM had a deal to stay off each other's turf

These curvy frames always catch my eye. I didn't get any of the back story about this bike. It came up for auction at our local thrift shop. I won with the amazingly low bid od $26 Cdn. I was prepared to go as high as a hundred, but there were no other serious bidders. What a gift! I really appreciate my good fotune.
