what could this be?

a pal gave this to me tues. he said he thought it was a CWC.
i'd kinda like to know what it could be and aprox. time frame. i'm assuming early/mid 50s.
any thoughts or help would be appreciated.

It looks like a JC Higgins to me? Judging by the collar where the seat stays and top tube meet. I think your age estimate is probably close.

there was a bike here that i thought it mite be, but i couldnt find it.
lookin' thru old build threads i finally gave up.
i looked again at the main page and this frame kinda looks like #26
i only kinda want to know that make/year this frame is.
id dont wanna put it on flea-bay for big bucks.
when i finish building this sucker and someone asks what is it i'd like to have some info.

so, i took some measurements and went to the local junk guy today.
for 5 bucks i brought home this girls murray.

about an hour and a couple cold ones later i had this.

cool bike there. and what a score on the $5 dollar parts bike that even yeilded a 3speed drivetrain.
