Recently picked up this 74 schwinn, not sure what model exactly but had to change bars on it temporarilly, my backs been acheing for the past couple weeks and its forced me to swap off the straight fixxy style race bar and put a set of Wald cruiser type bars to make it more comfortable, looks kind of weird I guess but this is the absolute best riding bike ever, seafoam green color's kinda growing on me to, An Irishman, there's not a green I don't like. Has the old Wald style chainwheel on it, thats kinda what sold me on it to start with, cool bike, running a 40/16 gear on it, someone made a pretty nice project out of it, new tires, coaster brake Hystop wheels, sprocket, I changed the seat to this one, anybody else have a kind of hybrid like this they really enjoy riding? :?

Thanks, she's a tall one, rides high, I also changed the pedals over to some Redline BMX ones I had, love the good ole platform pedals. I'll be holdin on to this one, for me its just different, got an old school flare about it. :D

not anymore but I am building a rails to trails bike that I think will be my best rider except for my road bike but that doesn't count but it is a nice bike. I really like this one, nice job.

If it's a good rider that's enough but I think it looks good also.

Outlaw I'm curious about your rails-to-trails bike.

Clean and sweet. Funny- I came a heartbeat away from painting my Dyno that color. I was still undecided on the freeway, but went red at the end. I love the pure bicycle-no fenders, racks, cables. I used to have an old Schwinn Racer with a 2 speed kick. It's one of many bikes I regret parting with. You can really cover some miles on those things. Very cool.

Im Diggin It!

And you aint gotta tell me about back problems...we can swap stories.

Im building a tall yellow '72 Varsity.

It will be my first Fixie and I cant wait to try it out.

How does your 40/16 ratio work out for ya?

I'll be running a 39/15.

I like it! Your bike sure looks comfy, like you could do more than just run down to the store on it. If it's flat where you live!! HaHa.

That color reminds me of Bianchi's official color that they call Celeste. It's a funny color, for me when I saw it years ago I thought it looked girlie but it took not even a week before I loved it. I run an old side of the road for free Bianchi pretty much the same way.

Great Bike!

Thanks fellas, yea the colors definately different and if you would have asked me before I saw this one I would have told you no WAY!! I'm am really likin it, goes with the frame shape perfectly for some reason, the 40/16 gearing is nice, pedals easy but has nice top speed, its like you can cruise at a faster speed longer and more comfortably. About the back pain, this gettin old stuff stinks!!!
