I was considering replacing a 26” wheel with a 24” and from what I’ve found a x3”would take up the space by the 2” difference in wheen circumference.

I did that on an 26" Emory. The wheels are 57mm 24" with 3 inch tires. Same thing on a 53 26" Roadmaster. They are almost the same height as a 26 x 2.125 tire.

My wheels are 4 inches wide so there’s no problem with the fat tire on those. I’ve never mounted a fat 24 though.
