What is a Felt Chief worth?

Local college kid has a Felt Chief with a few misc options like wider wheels, ss fenders with fat whites, and 3 speed. 2009 model in excellent condition. Claims to have about $900 in it.

He wants fast cash tomorrow.

What is fair to give him for it? I am thinking 200-300 max. Opinions?

I will probably clean, service, and store until spring then pancake it.

I can get a stock new one for about 400 bucks from a dealer.

I have a severe aversion to retail pricing and have always avoided those who want them.

I've seen them popping up all around the country for $250 lately.
The sellers all want a bike shop to pack them up and then
it becomes $50-100 for packing and another $100-150 in shipping
and that's when I say no way. I can buy a brand new one for around $400 just
like you said so what's the use.
But I am interested in the 80mm rims if you get the bike and want to part with them

$300 is a good price with such options maybe even more depending how much you really like it.
