theres a badge but couldnt reach it (took pic standing on a ladder) i know ive seen the chainring before but i cant remember what bikes ive seen it on.
 
not quite the same style chainring as th columbias i know, but maybe i havent seen them all :mrgreen: anywho, more pics ...

it was in an antique shop, hanging about 12 ft up in the air on a piece of rebar stuck in the wall, i was on a ladder taking pics :lol: just trying to decide if i need another project or not .... most likely not, but if i knew what it was i may change my mind :mrgreen:

it was a little further than an arms length away, so no serial number, i was thinking the frame looks pretty close to mr. moto actually :)
 
a moto... didn't think of that. whatever it is, you oughta get it cuz for a bike that old, it looks realativly complete. that must really bite to have it a few feet away from you and not be able to reach it. :D
 
I'm thinking a late 1800's to a early 1900's mead Ranger.but im wondering about those rims?.....since you have a close up they look steel but not metal clads?

its a fixie tho, look what those early hipsters done to those tires skiddin on them all the time! darn kids! :lol:
 
It's a 20's bike most likely with the non block chain. The hubs and brake will probalby give you the best way to date it if nothing else works. Those pedals are worth a small fortune. I would just leave it alone and sell it as-is or keep it as-is. Maybe clean on it a little bit at the most.
