26"? super thin tires, 5 speed, appears to be from sears. What is it & how old? Anyone know? Worth anything whole or parted out?

hard to tell from those pics,( better pictures will get you a better answer) but Sears means its probably Raleigh or Huffy depending on the age. they go for around $75 or up to about $150 with new tires/tubes/chain/cables. etc. a minty one might bring $200 to the right buyer..

If you part it out, I got dibs on the rectangular light!..

Thanks, sorry about the crappy pics. Took them with my cell phone. It's a piece of crap too. I will borrow my daughters camera & get some better pics. I may just part it out. I like the fat tire bikes, got to have more rubber on the road than that for me. They look cool though.

I find those Free Spirit bikes in the landfill. I have several now waiting to be made into tall bikes. A mens and ladies weld quite well together. The nicer white one I will keep. This 10 speed has has all the fancy stuff on it and it's just to nice to cut. I'm keeping that one.

Hard to tell from the tiny pics. It has a pie plate and a derailleur so I don't think its an Austrian made model (I think those all had 3 speed hubs). I'd guess its probably 70's. Price depends on the local market, I probably wouldn't pay more than $20.

Hey Cameron, I'd probably break my neck on one of those things! I aint as young as you guys!

This is a bit off topic, and I apologize. I don't *think* Raleigh ever made bikes for the Sears name. As Cameron said, Puch did; any foreign looking Sears bikes are probably Puch made. (Unrelated factoid, I believe Puch also made mopeds). Cameron is also right on this bike being a Columbia.

Puch made mopeds and motorcycles under their own name as well as the Allstate brand for Sears. My grandfather had a '69 Allstate motorcycle like this one for years. First bike I ever rode. Wish I was able to get it now. :(

Hey scrumblero! I would be willing to trade for a round headlight for my rat project. Rectangular just don't cut it for this one. Rust is OK as this thing is mostly rust & it would fit in real nice. I would also include the tail light & generator & some crusty wire with it. Got a round headlight? The bigger the better. 8)

There were English, French, as well as Austrian bikes badged for Sears in the 50's/60's. That said, I dont know what makers supplied the English or French ones.
