what is this bike

can anyone help me find a model or year on this bike. it has a hiawatha/gambles head badge. the serial numbers are c99866

Looks like AMF Roadmaster built, late 50's early 60's, going by the frame and chainguard, and the seat stem that tightens like a handlebar stem. The sprocket? No rust on it so maybe it was a replacement or someone oiled it.

That chainring was the first new design of the AMF era, I believe it started in 53, but as was said, this is a late 50s bike at least. The banana seat and ape bars were added later. -Adam
